Hi Assistant Professor Johnson,

I am pleased to let you know that I got excellent feedback from the students, teachers and parents about the event on Friday. Instructors Ryan and JJ did an excellent job talking about nutrition and fitness. I already knew they were good with kids, but it was impressive to see how they took over 40 kids at a time, and worked with them using very good large group management skills.

You may want to share with Instructor Ryan that I've asked one of the 5th grade classes about the promise they made to him to eat healthy snacks during the Super Bowl, and I had about 10 kids raise their hand that they tried. We even nominated one of them for the character word of the month (Honesty - keeping your promises).

Because of the very good feedback, I am hoping that Kempo activities will become a tradition at Explorer.

The Bear Family

Since Ryan has begun karate, we have seen some great improvements in his behavior. He does many things without being asked like brushing his teeth, making his bed and cleaning his room. In addition he’s got more confidence and better self-esteem. Overall, Universal Kempo-Karate has been great for Ryan!
